WipEout was released 31 years ago. Since the game is set in 2052, we're already more than halfway there. 😁 A technical gem, this Psygnosis game made a huge splash on the PS1 (and other platforms). Especially with its electro soundtrack and in-game branding & artworks by The Designers Republic.

Took a punt on a case of Warhammer Heroes, hoping to get lucky and snag the 4 WHQ heroes 3 out of 4 ain’t bad. Just got to track down the Witch Hunter. The rest will find a spot in my Cities collection

I miss my PSP. I had a modded one back when they first came out, but I think I had to sell it years ago. This is the third time in a month one of my feeds has had a post about how good they are - maybe it’s a sign! 😅

My miniature collection is reverse Benjamin Button-ing; my recent purchases have been getting older and older. This set is from 1989, but the models within were first released in 1986! (chrismcleod.photos/images/2026/09/2…)

Thankfully, another went up on eBay today, so I've bought it and will have to hope it manages to stay intact through postage and subsequent cleanup. Though the staff is already looking slightly bent in the listing photos, so maybe it's a fool's hope! 🙏 for a classic Elves MTO sometime soon!

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 20/09/2026

I managed to pin the staff back together, but I'm not happy with it. Oddly, some of the pewter seemed to turn black and... crumble(?) where the superglue touched it, so it's slightly off-centre and raggedy, but it's the best I can do with this one.

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

I wanted to give it a try, see how well I get on with Classic-style gameplay and some of the changes. And see which race/class/starting zone combo I vibe best with. I might give it one more try and then put it aside until launch

110

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

Honestly, I'm pleasantly surprised it hasn't sold out yet. Limited edition and Collector's edition books usually sell out pretty much instantly, *especially* if it's Marines. When something's too overpriced for even the scalpers to snap up, maybe there's a lesson to be learned

010

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

The game is really pretty great when it's playable, but I might have to wait until the hype dies down (or the regional servers come online) to really start enjoying it.

110

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

Basically: target mob; start cast; no cast bar, just animation; someone else attacks mob, so cancel cast; repeat until frustrated; leave area to do something else; start taking attack/spell damage in the middle of nowhere; die.

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

Trying to play a busy WoW: Forever beta on US servers has been really miserable at times. I just died in the new starting zone because all the combat I might have been in, if the lag time wasn't so high, caught up with me 8 minutes later when I was just travelling between map points

110

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

Genuinely, for that price I’d want it to come with a guarantee none of the content will be invalidated or changed for the entire edition

I *think* the minis from the Darkwater expansion are my favourites from last nights reveals, pipping the LotD to the top spot #nerdlings

A gaming miniature depicting a witch hunter for a fantasy setting. She is wearing a long, brown, heavy trench coat which has a chest plate And straps for carrying equipment over the top of it. She is carrying a flaming torch and sword. Her face is partially hidden e behind the high collar of her armour, and is further obscured by her wide-brimmed hat. Next to the miniature is an artists illustration of the character, carrying the name Safiya Ashcroft, and the description “The relentless firebrand”

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 19/09/2026

I’m in basically the same mindset. The regular dudes look like they could be for AOS or 40K, because there’s no real strong identity to them. The riflemen and artillery could drop straight into Imperial Guard. The characters are *chef’s kiss* though. And I think the Gholem are mostly cool

030

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 18/09/2026

Holy crap there are a lot of people playing the WoW: Forever beta. The Human starting zone is basically unplayable, the Night Elf one isn’t much better, but it’s *just* about doable

010

Chris M @chrismcleod.dev · 18/09/2026

Bought the one #oldhammer Teclis I could find on eBay where the staff or sword weren’t broken. It arrives … the staff breaks as I’m unwrapping it from the bubble wrap. 🤬

Yeah, the Aquilon’s looked a bit “off,” I thought. Could just be the presentation for the video, but they didn’t look great. I’ll wait until I see more pics before judging further

A sealed, blue and yellow box with the Warhammer Fantasy Battles and Citadel Miniatures logos, with the text ‘High Elf Pegasus” above a photo of a armoured elf carrying a lance and shield riding a Pegasus. A price tag of £15.00 is attached to the box. Above the box, a keyboard is partially visible.

Fresh outta 1992 #oldhammer Sadly, I did not pay just £8 for them!

A boxed Warhammer Fantasy Battle Citadel Miniatures set is shown on a tabletop, titled High Elf Silver Helms, with the text 4 High Elf Knights below the product photo. The lid displays four mounted knights, riding white barded horses, carrying blue banners and shields. A clear plastic bag with a metal miniature lies over the top right, and a handwritten price label £8-00 is stuck on the left.

A polystyrene tray, split into segments, containing all the pieces needed to assemble the miniatures. There are a mix of plastic parts for the horses, and metal parts for the knights

First properly finished project of my week off: a retro elven tower, by @doctorspork.bsky.social, painted in the 4th Edition style. On the right of the picture you can just about make out some eBay rescue High Elves I’ll be working on to go with it (once I get them back into square bases!)

A model of a sleek fantasy tower, painted in a pale cream colour, with a green roof. Arched windows are placed around the upper floor of the tower, just below the roof, and another is placed roughly half way between the heavy wooden door and the upper floor. A large red gem is placed above the door, which is framed in green, like the windows. The tower sits on a very messy desk, and high elf spearman infantry sit to the side of the picture
