Took a punt on a case of Warhammer Heroes, hoping to get lucky and snag the 4 WHQ heroes 3 out of 4 ain’t bad. Just got to track down the Witch Hunter. The rest will find a spot in my Cities collection
Looking top down on 8 smaller, black cardboard boxes, inside a larger brown cardboard box. Each of the small boxes is labelled with a white sticker to indicate the contents: 2 boxes have Sniper, 2 have Fusil, and then 1 each for Banner, Dragon, Priest, and Wizard. Beneath the labels, the white and red Warhammer Heroes logo can be seen

My miniature collection is reverse Benjamin Button-ing; my recent purchases have been getting older and older. This set is from 1989, but the models within were first released in 1986! (chrismcleod.photos/images/2026/09/2…)
A box propped on a desk. The box features a large 1980’ fantasy style illustration of a large skeleton army marching to war. There’s a skeletal chariot pulled by two skeleton horses in the foreground. The horde carries a mix of spears, shields, and regimental banners. Above the illustration is the text Skeleton Army, and in the bottom right is the Citadel Miniatures logo

I *think* the minis from the Darkwater expansion are my favourites from last nights reveals, pipping the LotD to the top spot #nerdlings
A gaming miniature depicting a witch hunter for a fantasy setting. She is wearing a long, brown, heavy trench coat which has a chest plate And straps for carrying equipment over the top of it. She is carrying a flaming torch and sword. Her face is partially hidden e behind the high collar of her armour, and is further obscured by her wide-brimmed hat. Next to the miniature is an artists illustration of the character, carrying the name Safiya Ashcroft, and the description “The relentless firebrand”

Fresh outta 1992 #oldhammer Sadly, I did not pay just £8 for them!
A boxed Warhammer Fantasy Battle Citadel Miniatures set is shown on a tabletop, titled High Elf Silver Helms, with the text 4 High Elf Knights below the product photo. The lid displays four mounted knights, riding white barded horses, carrying blue banners and shields. A clear plastic bag with a metal miniature lies over the top right, and a handwritten price label £8-00 is stuck on the left.A polystyrene tray, split into segments, containing all the pieces needed to assemble the miniatures. There are a mix of plastic parts for the horses, and metal parts for the knights

First properly finished project of my week off: a retro elven tower, by @doctorspork.bsky.social, painted in the 4th Edition style. On the right of the picture you can just about make out some eBay rescue High Elves I’ll be working on to go with it (once I get them back into square bases!)
A model of a sleek fantasy tower, painted in a pale cream colour, with a green roof. Arched windows are placed around the upper floor of the tower, just below the roof, and another is placed roughly half way between the heavy wooden door and the upper floor. A large red gem is placed above the door, which is framed in green, like the windows. The tower sits on a very messy desk, and high elf spearman infantry sit to the side of the picture

Doing some project research
Screenshot from a retro sci-fi real-time strategy video game, titled Starcraft. A cluster of futuristic buildings (including a large domed structure and two hexagonal refineries) sits on brown, cratered terrain near a cave wall. Nearby, a small group of armored soldiers stands beside two worker robots and a hovering armored vehicle. To the left, a patch of glowing blue crystal-like resources juts out of the ground. A heads-up display along the top shows resource counts, and a control panel with a minimap occupies the bottom of the screen.

The Dreadnought is possibly the best thing I’ve ever painted

This thing was absolute bullshit to put together. So much pinning and epoxy putty!
A black and white photograph of a metal Chaos Minotaur Lord miniature, by Games Workshop. The miniature depicts a large, ogre-like creature, much larger than a man, with a bull-like head. It is clad in various pieces of archaic armour and furs, and wields 2 very large axes, 1 in each hand. The miniature is placed on a gridded cutting mat, and in the background can be seen a Yeti travel mug

Now there’s more of them!
A black and white photo of a regiment of 19 metal Chaos Beastmen Ungors with spears, along with the Gor Champion from earlier in the thread. The Ungors have goat-like legs and small horns, but more human-like features than the Gor. One carries a banner, the other is blowing a hunting horn. The regiment is unpainted, and arranged on a cutting mat, suggesting they have just been assembled. A pile of small, round, plastic shells sits off to the side, nearly out of shot

A “poetry is in the streets” art event happened at the end of April, but Wednesday was the first time I’d been in town since then. Spotted this display on my way to buy some coffee (chrismcleod.photos/images/2026/06/1…)
A whitewashed cottage wall covered in black typographic poetry and slogans, with two windows and a dark green front door. The text is arranged in blocks around the openings, including repeated phrases such as Hope over everything, Hope as a radical act, and Resistance is futile then futile I shall be. A slate roof and stone surroundings frame the street-side façade.
