I fundamentally disagree with the death penalty. I believe in society and rehabilitation where possible. I found, for example, Leslie Van Houten's release to be something where you look at society and go 'yeah, this is how it works'.

I don't think anyone can really equivocate on the death penalty in America given that it's not even like, "oh, they might get it wrong!" They *constantly* get it wrong. GOP governors are forever overruling successful appeals or racing courts to kill someone before they're exonerated.
