No, the world has not breached the 1.5C global warming target. It’s a climate target - which means it’s an average that must be sustained over at least a decade. We currently sit at 1.2 C. Which is already very bad. The science is clear: every bit of warming matters, every action matters.

According to the City of Paris, in the last 10 years 150,000 trees have been planted and 45 hectares of parks created in the city, to improve quality-of-life today, and also to help the city adapt to and manage summer heatwaves of 50℃ (122F) by 2050. On top of everything else Paris has been doing.

The EPA only requires pesticide manufacturers to perform 3 narrow tests on adult honeybees to assess toxicity to... all insects. Sometimes the 3rd test is waived. That must change to protect insects, according to a petition from @xercessociety.bsky.social. www.thenewlede.org/2024/12/epa-...
