It always amazes me that a pay cut for senior managers would 'make no difference', whereas redundancies, department and course closures are necessary to 'secure the future of the university', give students the 'best experience' and 'serve our communities'. #HigherEd

The picture for gender equality in the UK music industry is GRIM. If you look at the pipeline of gender equality in music higher education, we are moving away from gender equality rather than closer to it. I've written about this in a new academic article.

Three entirely cost-free interventions that would save time and resources that HEIs currently can't afford: 1. Reinstate number controls 2. Cancel REF 3. Loosen visa restrictions Can't see the RG supporting 1 and 2 as core sources of their current dominance. And yes, we need a major rethink.
