I fear that, in order for the US & Israel to avoid further retaliation & humiliation by Iran, they may see the use of a nuclear weapon as the only way to hide the weaknesses Iran revealed & reestablish a position of strength that’s clearly dwindling. A dying empire has no limits.

Decolonial Thought Plus
In this hellscape of living we are instructed
not to name the killers, not to mention the killing, and not to look too closely at the manufacturing of death.
Instead, we are disciplined into hygiene-language scrubbed sterile, sounding 'academic enough, standing safely,
at the centre of the abyss.
It then gets stamped, approved by
the editors of silence, before it's sold back to us as decolonial thought plus.

There’s nothing like looking at the list of those who got tenure and realizing that your publication record is stronger than most of them yet you’re the one who was denied tenure. So much for the meritocracy administrators love to defend.

The denial of tenure was never about scholarship. It was a retaliatory move from @texastechlib.bsky.social to send a chilling message: dissent that threatens institutional power will be punished. Shame on Ron Hendrick, Brendon Creighton, Lawrence Schovanec turned tenure into a political tool!

"Symbolic or epistemological warfare draws on theoretical advancements of the human sciences, particularly the disciplines and fields that have advanced some form of communication theory. As the text at hand illustrates, “Education, journalism, advertising, public opinion measurement, human relations, labor relations, military morale studies, and community studies have all served as laboratories for developing a body of theory about communication” that serves counterinsurgency (p. 9). Political science, psychology, anthropology, and sociology, as the points out, are one of the most salient disciplines in regards to empirically examining and theorizing communication as integral to social existence. Studies focused on the symbols of communication, mass media’s impact on collective behavior, how recipients of a discourse make meaning of and decisions from the communication available to them, how communities choose or abandon leaders, and, how and why social unrest emerges to threaten the status quo, not to mention the creation of a culture of fear within a (perceived or real) hostile environment."

Gaza’s shadow over NYC: How a mayoral race turned into a moral referendum
TEHRAN – Zohran Kwame Mamdani, the Ugandan-Indian son of a postcolonial scholar who was born in Uganda, has done something the pundit class assumed impossible: his campaign dragged the once-distant politics of Gaza into the center of a New York mayoral election and forced voters to decide whether American power remains accountable.

Critics of decolonial thought say that decolonial scholarship essentializes western thought. These critics, however, never really give an honest answer why their favorite philosophers outright supported colonialism. It’s not surprising that philosophers today justify genocide.
