A story I once heard and cannot verify tells of Adorno and Beckett on a panel together. Adorno read a paper about Endgame identifying Clov with Claudius and Hamm with Hamlet. Beckett stood up and said "that's not what I meant." Adorno then stood back up and argued with him about it

Not the real sin ofc, but the meter here is BAD, like it is trying for ballad meter and it can't even do that. So many full stresses that need to be awkwardly suppressed ("rice flails""grim Kurdish") so many unnecessary syllables ("five kilos"? "Ten pounds" is right there) and as for the rhymes...
