I haven’t been on here for a while. Gosh it’s quiet. I guess Threads is really preferred these days? It used to feel like this place was more for actually keeping up with people rather than just doom scrolling, but doom scrolling seems to be what the people want 😮‍💨

My palate cleanser contract this year was just what I needed. Pure Angular, solving real problems. It finished earlier this month but I'm in no rush to pick up the next thing. I feel like the market at the moment is in such a weird place. I'd like to see how the AI slop bubble settles first.

Oof, this is pretty brutal. I see comments like these about Nx a lot. This particular Reddit post just seems to have corralled them all in one place. Surprised to see so many recommending Moon these days. Historically it wasn't considered a serious rival. User-friendliness counts for a lot though 🤔

Forms have been a nightmare so I’m looking first to seeing what happens with Signal Forms, but I also hate re-styling components. It’s fine when they’re completely self contained, but you almost always need to re-style when in use and ::ng-deep still feels like a hack.

Whereas:

Mastercard, Visa, and other payment platforms have been leveraging their power over consumer ability to purchase legal content;
In 2021, Mastercard changed its policies to regulate adult entertainment by preventing the use of its payment platform on numerous adult entertainment sites;
As of July 2025, video game distribution service Steam now cites rule 15, that “adult only” content is not permitted on the platform if it goes against payment processor’s policies. Steam does not describe what content is defined as “adult only”;
As of July 2025, video game distribution website Itch.io has “deindexed” all adult NSFW content from browse and search pages. Users that previously purchased legitimate video games cannot access games that have been removed; and
This has set an unsettling precedent of corporate censorship, causing concern in video game development teams, including developers, voice actors, and artists in other creative fields as their livelihoods are in limbo.

We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to
1. Stop financial discrimination by payment platforms against legal goods and services;
2. Ensure transparency to consumers about content restrictions and the rationale behind them; and
3. Protect creators' rights to make legal adult content and ensure a fair appeals process for any penalized media.

"Political violence" is a term that exists to suggest a moral distinction between "violence against politicians" and "violence by politicians" - so that one can be condemned while the other can be normalized. Obviously, no such distinction exists in reality: violence is violence.
