Am I the only person who thinks season 2 of Deadwood is really poorly written? So many characters are just randomly dropped in (most of them just to be removed right away having had no impact on anything). I hope season 3 is a bit more coherent because season 2 is all over the place.

I’ve been teaching myself fingerstyle and classical guitar. I’ve found myself improving by learning the same song multiple times, but in progressively more challenging arrangements. The progression is really interesting to see when learning this way. It’s very rewarding each time I “level up.”

CRIME and BREACH are actual vulnerability names. You have to hand it to security researchers for coming up with such epic acronyms. CRIME = Compression Ratio Info-leak Made Easy (CVE-2012-4929) BREACH = Browser Reconnaissance and Exfiltration via Adaptive Compression of Hypertext (CVE-2013-3587)

Episode 5 of Alien Earth was the best Alien movie since Aliens. (Though they should have kept the specimens in tubes made of whatever glass the med bay window is made of in Aliens.) But it's the first Alien content since the 1979 movie to give me the same chills as the original.

Frankly, these past 36 hours, I’ve been very, very glad I have prescriptions for both Wellbutrin and Xanax. It’s amazing how quickly your mental health can go into a tailspin. Mental health is so incredibly crucial, and I’ve been gratified to see people get more open to talking about it.

I actually do use em dashes occasionally (and have for a long time). I am realizing that I’m going to have to stop, or people will think the things I say are written by AI, because apparently AI loves to overuse em dashes. 🤷🏻‍♀️

What do we think of Alien Earth so far? To be honest, I'm just excited to have some new sci-fi horror content with creatures we don't already know a ton about. This is my favorite genre, and I love Predator and Alien, but their lore isn't exactly full of surprises anymore.

I recognize the value of GitHub Copilot, but what is the value of Copilot in other software like PowerPoint? Yesterday, I asked Copilot to go through my presentation and change all line shapes to have round miter, and it was like, “Sorry, I can’t actually do anything to your slides!”
