Hi friends - mom update 💜 She’s not doing well at all. I’m usually able to visit Grace for 2 days every once in awhile, but this weekend my mom had to call me to come home because her leg is suddenly so bad that she can’t put any weight on it without excruciating pain. Any help is so appreciated

Tldr; You’re all stupid because your city could be getting more tax revenue to do fuck all with except approve more data centers and destroying local environments is a risk from any project. Nothing to see here.

But the panic about the harms of these projects has well outpaced the evidence.
In my years researching and reporting on Al and the environment, with support from a grant from Coefficient Giving (formerly Open Philanthropy), I've noticed that misconceptions abound.
This panic, moreover, is leading communities to forgo massive amounts of tax revenue-largely because of threats that are inflated, confused, and sometimes nonexistent. The trade-offs are real.
