That's good! Even if it's practically the same, just having an app that feels like it's actually being actively maintained would be a huge improvement

right? even though these other books are starting from zero, it's such a well-tread version of zero that they feel kind of stale from the jump

Hickman has done something that feels familiar and fresh, putting the characters we know into an interesting new context and taking his time revealing that context to the reader. Older material informs upon new material. It's more than just a Grimdark AU. MSM and MFF...feel like Grimdark AUs lol

made the mistake of reading Hickman's Midnight X-Men #1 before reading the other two (Spider-Man, Fantastic Four). Not because it was bad, it was a complete banger, but because the other two were so middling that I was like "THIS is your bold new creative vision?"

In Paper Mario, Mayor Penguin is found seemingly dead, with Mario being suspected of his murder. However, if a letter is delivered to him during that time, he will get up, thank Mario, and promptly go back to being dead. Unfortunately, this cannot prove Mario's innocence.

On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell JVP) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.

shout out to the poster in this reddit thread who's like "an ex tried to get me into video games but so many of them contain sexual violence" and how they ultimately just couldn't find ANY games to play without SA content. girl i think your ex might just exclusively play games with rape content

alright while i'm nitpicking: putting Severance on there, a show which is NOT complete and basically just has like 5 different mysteries up in the air with uncertain resolutions, is nuts. Please do something to curb your recency bias

Also I think the criteria being PREMIERED in the 20th century, which excludes the sopranos on what is basically a technicality, is completely nuts. like yeah yeah we all know the sopranos rocks but, come on

If there's an implied "(Live Action)" this list is probably fine but I do think throwing Bojack and NO OTHER animated show on here is genuinely so insulting to the medium of animation that they shouldn't have bothered putting it on there at all

i told the goat look buddy just wait until after we’ve driven you into the woods then the people doing it will forget what all the fuss was about. the goat pointed out that i myself was one of the people driving it into the woods. i said no that’s different from how the other villagers are doing it

so my village has been having a lot of issues. rather than deal with any of them, i grabbed a goat and had all the villagers pile their blame and hate onto the goat. while we were getting ready to drive it into the woods (and absolve ourselves) the goat BIT ME????? RUDE?!?

Would the game really be improved by choose-your-dialogue scenes where you can have a positive/negative/neutral impact on an invisible relationship meter with Jean Grey?

100

Number 1 Bird Fan @cataquack.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Gamers are positively CRYING OUT for environmental puzzles in the 3d action brawler where you play as an animal guy with knives for hands. They yearn for the hacking minigame that was so annoying in the spider-man game they added a skip button for those sections entirely

Number 1 Bird Fan @cataquack.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

just read a review of the new wolverine game that primarily dings the game for some truly bizarre things. Linearity, not enough open world cruft, lack of player agency in the plot of the game or character relationships(???) and a lack of puzzles. What???

I'm with you, although i do think it's fun that the folded form factor isn't just "standard iphone". Aside from that I'm just like, aside from being kind of cool idk how much it has any practical value

Number 1 Bird Fan @cataquack.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I still think foldables (at least, wide ones) are a solution in search of a problem but i do like that the folded form factor is kind of a chode lol. Like if you're going this way the phone shouldn't have to be a rectangle!
