I represented a Client charged with obstruction for filming a cop who pulled a gun on him for driving whilst Black. The state's attorney argued that Client was trying to entrap the cop by goading cop into shooting him for a payday for his family. So no, "just follow the law" is bullshit.

I represented a client charged with obstruction for not exiting a vehicle. Client was deaf and therefore didn't hear the command. State's attorney argued that Client chose not to get a cochlear implant so Client planned to obstruct cops.

I represented a client who was charged with obstruction for, this is true, not letting a cop sexually assault her. Client said "no" when propositioned, cop grabbed her genitals, she said "no" again, and the state's attorney charged her with obstruction.

The Green Party has 200,000 members but fewer than Reform, which has 270,000. Wrong. Reform is a limited company entirely owned by Nigel Farage. So it only has 1 member. The other 269,999 are just a mailing list. Unlike Green Party members, they do not elect leaders or determine policy.

Hello BBC Political Editor Chris Mason, the dogwhistle of family voting will only become "part of the conversation" if the media make it "part of the conversation", which you are doing, so maybe back off the passive voice and own it?

A clip from the BBC News opinion piece on the byelection result:

"A final thought that will be part of the conversation in the hours and days after this by election – the suggestion of significant "family voting" as it is known.

The group Democracy Volunteers reported what it called "concerningly high levels of family voting in Gorton and Denton" - which it defines as "where two voters either confer, collude or direct each other on voting".

Manchester City Council insisted "no such issues" were reported by its staff at polling stations.

Labour Party Chair Anna Turley told the BBC the reports were "obviously extremely worrying and concerning" and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage claimed the by-election was "a victory for sectarian voting and cheating"."
