"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."

I didn’t know much about this race so I looked it up and it’s: -Markey:incumbent that help introduce “transgender bill of rights”and green new deal is old as hell -Moulton:the challenger criticized democrats on trans issues in sports but is young -Markey wins 60-30 So yeah, actually fight and win

it should be mentioned that the 2014 status quo for trans people still meant that we had suicide risks, unemployment numbers, life expectancy, poverty risk that were way worse than the average person, and somehow asking for this is seen as frivolous luxury and purity testing

This is a Dem saying she proudly voted with Republicans to enact a national ban on trans people in schools and to withdraw federal funding from schools that offer protections for trans students. It's beyond monstrous. You cannot defend that and insist we vote for a candidate like that.

So when a Dem says they agree with any of this, they are taking a position that is against what trans people ALREADY HAD just 5 years ago. That's why trans people won't accept it. It's not about progress, it's about preventing a managed decline in civil rights agreed to by Democrats.
