I know the main headline here is PQ back in power and possibly a referendum to follow, but the 1a headline is absolutely that first past the post is not a great fit for politics in Quebec (and other provinces) at the moment.

This looks like a recipe for disaster, based on the dreadful and largely discredited "vehicular cycling" philosophy. Are there no cycling groups or experts in Spain who can address this?

Let's do this where we can! In cities and suburbs with bikes and transit, we have options. You don't have to ditch your car entirely to make a huge difference. Start with one or two trips per week.

Under First-past-the-post, Conservatives can ignore urban ridings and Liberals can ignore rural ones while still winning majorities. This polarizes politics and causes extreme policy swings. Proportional representation ensures every voice in every region counts.

“The Professor” Scott Galloway baffles me. People give him way too much credit. He had the nerve to say (on Raging Moderates) that the Canadian economy “hasn’t grown in 10 years”. Our GDP is $2.44 trillion. It was $1.6T in 2016. In what world does an increase of 50% constitute “not growing”?
Stats from
macrotrends on Canada GDP

Canada GDP for 2026 is 2.445 trillion US dollars, a 5.41% increase from 2025.
• Canada GDP for 2025 was 2.320 trillion US dollars, a 2.19% increase from 2024.
• Canada GDP for 2024 was 2.270 trillion US dollars, a 3.35% increase from 2023.
• Canada GDP for 2023 was 2.197 trillion US dollars, a 0.18% decline from 2022.
GDP at purchaser's prices is the sum of gross value added by all resident producers in the economy plus any product taxes and minus any subsidies not included in the value of the products.

Why is Doug Ford fighting with Toronto over bike lanes? The city has already invested heavily in cycling infrastructure, and Bike Share Toronto is at record-high ridership. His plan will cost taxpayers across the province millions and won’t do anything to improve congestion.

Lake Ontario's name comes from the Wyandot word Ontarí'io, which is typically translated as "beautiful lake". The Kanienʼkéha called it Katarokwi. Samuel de Champlain called it Lac de St. Louis. The name Lacus Ontario was first recorded in 1660 by Francis Creuxius.

Instead of building concrete walls, nature already invented the perfect coastal defense. Mangrove roots form a tangled web that catches crashing waves and breaks them down into gentle currents. They stop erosion, filter our water, and save entire coastal communities from flooding.
