Supper Mario Broth @mariobrothblog.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

In Paper Mario, Mayor Penguin is found seemingly dead, with Mario being suspected of his murder. However, if a letter is delivered to him during that time, he will get up, thank Mario, and promptly go back to being dead. Unfortunately, this cannot prove Mario's innocence.

the GANSO! bang dream chan finale builds off themes in preceding bandori anime, bringing up questions of identity formation and girls as monstrosities, while also metatextually referencing the changes of tone in the franchise and the capitalist widespread appeal of such major multimedia franchises

A screenshot from the last episode of GANSO! Bang Dream Chan of Kasumi standing on a rooftop in front of the creature from the first episode. A caption shows her saying “Yeah, I get it…”

A screenshot of Uika, Tomori, Kasumi, Kokoro, and Ran standing on a rooftop. A caption shows Kasumi as saying “You’re also a BanG Dream Chan…”

A screenshot of the very very edge of Mashiro’s hair, Uika, Tomori, and Arale standing on a rooftop. A caption shows speech (from an offscreen Kasumi) saying “There’s a BanG Dream for everyone!”

A little context to add here: The fight for the soul of Title IX is longer than this post suggests. It started with attacks on sexual assault survivors in 2015. And that underscores OP’s central point. Schools capitulated then and look where we are now.

yuri dilettantes: girls band anime aren't yuri iori miyazawa, in the middle of writing some of the best yuri out there:

I.M.: So then, regarding yuri content in 2018. First of all I must bring up the "BanG Dream!" franchise. It's a multimedia project by Bushiroad where actual voice actresses do real band performances. This concept was developed into novels and manga, and there was even an anime series. A social game called "BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!" was released in 2017, and this "Garupa" has some amazing yuri. I'm calling this "Bushiroad's bloody powerful carrier strike group".

R.M.: A carrier strike group of yuri.

i worry that men think being A Good Guy is dramatically and heroically intervening on behalf of an endangered woman and then being publicly rewarded on a grand scale when actually being A Good Guy is just usually saying, “hey man that’s not funny” or “wow that’s fucked up” and there is no reward

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Clicking Google's fun whimsical throwback logo today sends you to an AI chat pre-filled with a goofy prompt and immediately hits you with a warning that it is potentially dangerous to continue. You couldn't make a better commentary on how badly they have fucked up the internet if you tried.

parental death / illness cw // i alluded to it the other day, but a little over three weeks ago my dad died. it wasn’t completely out of nowhere but it was still fairly sudden. he was not a good husband, a good father (especially to me), or a good man, but without him i would be unrecognizable

this byline vastly ignores and undermines just how important indigenous people's role in land stewardship allows for this to happen at all. 'leave it alone' implies that we can only do harm, which posits the colonizer as the only person left
