I worry about Democrats promising middle class tax cuts etc. They shouldn't, it's bad policy. If we want to fix things, yeah billionaires need to get paying first, but we'll probably need everyone eventually to pay some more. I don't like the idea of that existing as an attack against these Dems.

Is there a word to describe things when inflation is high & the job market is cratering & a Republican is in the White House? I ask only because I am aware of what we call high inflation & a booming job market with a Democratic president? 🤔🧐🤷‍♂️

The death penalty is a moral abomination. State-sanctioned barbarism pushed by incompetent morons and sanctioned by the Supreme Court. Absolute ghoul shit. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...
The lone woman on Tennessee's death row was still alive after she was administered two lethal injections, her lawyer said in a motion seeking to halt her execution Wednesday night, a stunning development after the Supreme Court had stepped in to allow the state to put her to death.
At 8:26 p.m. local time, witnesses said
"executioners had injected both syringes of lethal injection chemicals and Pike is still alive and snoring," her lawyers said in a federal court filing.
They said Pike "has not lost consciousness and still has a heartbeat," and that curtains to the death chamber "have gone down twice."

To the people complaining these sex abuse cases have created a world where men now have to think 10 times before they touch a woman. Yes, that's the point. It's called consent. Welcome to human decency.

I hate myself enough to shit on the idiocy and wastefulness of having degrees in English and Criminology. I had no business going to school or getting loans for either diploma. But denying others the opportunity to get liberal arts degrees stymies a lot of potential and creativity. And for what?

My son was told about affirmative consent his entire life, so much so that I was wrestling with the cat which was growling at me (not seriously and she was a cat who growled when she was playing also when she ate food) and my toddler son told me that the cat said no. That shit's not hard to teach.

On this day in 1994, the Clinton administration's heathcare reform plan was declared "dead" by Congress. Over 30 years later, the US is still the only industrialized country without universal healthcare. This should be a national outrage.

👀"If we see that a candidate’s talking about something like democracy over cost of living, then like that’s when they should not expect to see help from us" JICYMI - House Majority Pac (HMP) the establishment super pac for House Dems - don't want Dems to be talking about threats to our democracy.
"HMP’s red line: Affordability
House Majority PAC President Mike Smith made a lot of news on our latest episode of “Fly Out Day.”

But here’s something that stuck out to us the most: the House Democratic super PAC won’t spend a dime to elect Democrats who aren’t speaking about the economy or rising costs. This comes as HMP and other political organizations are beginning to make “cold-blooded decisions about when and where [they] actually spend.”

“We’ve been very clear to our candidates,” Smith said. “Anyone that’s not hyper-focused on cost of living and the economy as their No. 1 issue, don’t expect to see any support from House Majority PAC.”

Here’s an interesting quote from Smith aimed at candidates running on saving democracy:

“Democracy is a really important issue at the end of the day. If we see that a candidate’s talking about something like democracy over cost of living, then like that’s when they should not expect to see help from us because we want them laser focused on the thing that matters most to voters, which is the economy.”

This is a pretty extraordinary position coming from the largest outside group spending for House Democrats. HMP is demanding message discipline and is prepared to use that as a litmus test to decide how to use its limited resources on an expanding map.

The super PAC has booked more than $280 million in ads across 70-plus markets."

Democrats need to win. Here’s the message our research says works
Candidates must focus on two issues: affordability and accountability. They are not competing priorities

The real mood after 9/11 was which countries do we invade and how many? All this hagiography about those days “proving the justice of our culture” or whatever is a load. We were scared shitless and just wanted to hurt people, and that was the mood for years.
