I'd have to dig up the link but there was actually a review of what happens if you give extended time to students who don't need it. The answer is nothing. Their test scores didn't change. We don't need to gatekeep to make things fair: accommodations just level the playing field.

I genuinely believe a lot of this backlash is because women with ADHD are finally getting the help we should have had decades ago, and that's a threat to the patriarchal status quo where boys and men are just naughty and special and can't help it, whereas girls and women should put up and shut up
