It's, honestly, rather delightful. The following recipe is my neighbor's...I omit the meringue, but it's worth it, if you're into that. I prefer it chilled, served with a warm pastry.

1/2 Gallon whole milk
3 cans Evaporated milk
6 eggs, separated
2 T Vanilla
2/3 c. Sugar

Add milk and evaporated milk to pot over medium heat. In two separate bowls, separate eggs. Add sugar to the yolks and cream until it looks like pancake mix. Put a small amount of heated milk into a cup and add small amount of egg mixture to test if it melts smoothly. Slowly add egg mixture to the milk. Stir well and lower fire until almost out. Add vanilla, and correct sweetness, if necessary. Beat egg whites until firm, and then add sugar slowly until firm. Spoon clouds of meringue into milk and fold once

Anyone else have a story related to missing out on something because of being grounded? Somewhere in Mom's attic sits an unused ticket to see Shonen Knife and The Breeders open for Nirvana at the Travel & Tourism building, OK State Fairgrounds. Less than 4 months later, Kurt was gone.
