BREAKING: Judge Burroughs rejects new claims to protect Somalia TPS, largely saying that she is bound by SCOTUS's decision relating to Syria and Haiti TPS. As such, she lifts the administrative stay protecting the Somalia TPS. Opinion: storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us... For example:
Discrimination on the Basis of Race
Plaintiffs argue that they are likely to succeed on their race-discrimination claims because
President Trump and others in his administration made countless statements that were "racially
overt[,]... directly targeted at Somali people," [ECF No. 103 at 12], and "explicitly tie[d] racialized notions about Somalis' alleged criminality to demands for their expulsion," [ECF No.
92 at 21-22]. Though Plaintiffs lay out a strong case for why the at-issue statements were racist, see (ECF No. 92 at 23-271, after Mullin, which included a constitutional race-discrimination claim, the Court cannot discern a path to concluding that Plaintiffs will succeed on the merits of this claim.

This is from the editor of the "Economist," and with all due respect, I do not think this is a surprising conflict at all. It's just typical fascist reactionary modernism, going back to Marinetti and the Italian Futurists.
"But then the last part got a lot of attention. I think an important side of Elon is his political side — his role in the Trump administration but also his interventions into European politics.

I was, and am, genuinely baffled by the gap between the extraordinarily expansive view of humanity that he shows when he’s talking about the future, and interstellar travel, and being a multiplanetary civilization, and all that stuff and then the kind of tribalism cesspit of social media that he’s in. He says that the most important thing with AI is to ensure that it is truth seeking and curious. Then you look at the stuff that he propagates on X and it’s not truth seeking, a lot of it. It’s caricature. It’s dystopia."

The Trump admin had a real theory of war: Put on a show of toughness, tell people how manly you are, disdain law, do war crimes, and you win. Earlier losses came from leaders too "weak" to do that. It was a very stupid theory. But they espoused it a lot, really seem to believe it, and acted on it.

it's a whole ass essay
I just cloned myself...as a newborn

With this clone, I can:

+ become my own blood boy

test therapies on the clone

grow organs for transplantation

+ develop new treatments

+ inject young cells

Follow

This baby-bryan lives in a petri dish for now.

This may be scary to some people...a dystopian future. But, for others, they will see it as the inevitable future of health.

Clinical trials are already using this technology to restore dopamine neurons for Parkinson's, heart health and eyesight. The process

> blood draw

> my cells were extracted

> yamanaka factors applied

> reset epigenetic age

> restoring them to an embryonic-like state

Why?

> these cells are now pluripotent

> can be differentiated into hundreds of cell types

> i.e. neurons, cardiomyocytes, retinal cells, etc

allowing me to rebuild my body

> organ by organ

repairing lost eyesight or hearing

restoring kidney, liver or lung function

repairing skin damage

there's no real limitation in imagining

> my body will accept them bc they're my cells > foreign cells are at risk of being rejected

As cells age, they accumulate epigenetic errors compounding into dysfunction and disease.

This technology gives us a path to reverse aging.

I mentioned getting diagnosed with an incurable disease is one of the best things that has happened to me in a long time. It's opened up a frontier of new paths to repair and strengthen the body. This is the first example.

A new granite walkway. Refinishing the wall to glue those hideous gold accents. Trump claimed he was paying for all of it. He lied. They’ve been looting the National Parks.
THE PATHWAY THAT CONNECTS the
White House residence to the
Oval Office has long been paved in Tennessee flagstone. Every president since
Harry Truman made the 45-second commute, and made it without complaint, until Donald Trump. The dun rock would not do. Instead, Trump wanted polished African granite, carved in Italy, with a flamed-finish stripe-slightly raised, to prevent slips—running down the middle. As workers tore up the flagstone last March, a reporter asked Trump who was paying for the enhancements. "Paid for by me," he replied. But that wasn't true. Budget documents from the National Park Service that I obtained show that the walkway replacement cost taxpayers $689,232, and is part of a $1.3 million project that included repairing adjacent stone and masonry and providing new hardware for nearby doors. A year earlier, in a separate
"Rush project at request of POTUS," the Park Service spent $347,503 to remove and replace the stucco on the colonnade wall, a project that cleared the way for Trump to affix gold frames and plaques mocking some of his predecessors.
