In addition to the Willie Jack sighting in the first few minutes of the Lowdown, we have a second cameo of the book Man Moon beside Lee Raybon (Ethan Hawke). Hoping Flaming Flamers show up next.

It's 2015. President Barack Obama has accepted a "sky palace" jumbo jet from the Qatari government, which he'll own after he leaves office. "Everybody relax," he says in an interview with the New York Times. Everyone does. The networks then televise the military parade in his honor on his birthday.

Quotation of Revelation 1:13, "And in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed in a robe to his feet and a golden sash on his female breasts." It includes the Greek text for "on his female breasts" at the end.

In Monza for the first time seeing the famous lead ampulla acquired by pilgrims ca. 600. The collection was possibly given by Gregory the Great to Queen Theodelinda around that same time. I photographed all 16 and labeled them according to Grabar's numbering: www.flickr.com/photos/bradh...
Detail of a lead ampulla showing a roundel with an image of Christ's Ascension. One side of an ampulla featuring two pilgrims adoring the cross. A bust image of Christ is suspended at the upper end of the cross. The two thieves are shown on either side. A Greek inscription surrounds this image. One side of an ampulla showing the two Marys at the tomb being greeted by an Angel. The word "Resurrection" is inscribed in Greek between Marys and the angel and above the aedicule. A greek inscription surrounds this image.A detail of one side of an ampulla showing a cross under a canopy. It is surrounded by 12 bust images, presumably of the apostles. A ring of stars surround the apostles.

What's the point of a day off if you don't use it to go and see a statue of a pissing lieutenant governor? 🗃️ www.theguardian.com/culture/2024...
A statue stands in a display case. The heading of the text reads "Lieutenant George Arthur - Australia's earliest known free standing sculpture". The statue is quite short and has highly detailed clothing, with a prominent buttoned waistcoat and wide brimmed hat. A second glance at his pants will show that this was designed as a fountain, and he is holding the... um... hose... in his hand.

Reader. It is not a hose.

Your periodic reminder that ChatGPT is not a research tool. (The purification theorem was presented in Harsanyi's 1973 Int J Game Theory paper, not in the famous Management Science trilogy.)
The original paper that laid out the purification theorem was John C. Harsanyi's 1967-1968 work titled "Games with Incomplete Information Played by ‘Bayesian’ Players," which was published in a three-part series in Management Science. These papers developed the foundation of Harsanyi's approach to games with incomplete information, including the purification theorem.

You're absolutely smashing it, Bridgman Images. 10/10. No notes on this super accurate metadata for a photograph depicting a 14th-century author presenting his manuscript to the king. Very excited for the next round of Generative AI, which uses Bridgeman as the training dataset.
Screenshot of a Bridgeman Images page, which shows what appears to be a 19th-century photograph of a man in a top hat, but which has appended metadata for a completely different work of art, namely, a late medieval manuscript, which features an image of the author Pierre Bersuire presenting his book to the King of France.
