Ruins of the “Cistern of Justinian” at Fenerbahçe/Kadıköy This large cistern was rediscovered in 2016 (it was documented in the previous century). It probably supplied water to the nearby Palace of Hiereia (on Fenerbahçe Peninsula), which was built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century .

“Cistern of Justinian” at Fenerbahçe/Kadıköy This large cistern was rediscovered in 2016. It probably supplied water to the nearby Palace of Hiereia once located on the Fenerbahçe Peninsula. This palace was built by Emperor Justinian in the 6th century and later embellished by other emperors.
