Are you worried that merchants are trying to sneak unfit eels into your town? Should you be? This was an ongoing concern in medieval London, & so the city had customs workers who unpacked, inspected, & repacked all suspicious barrels of eels. Which, really, is not a great job. 🗃️🧪
