Re: Murphy & a potential move to Everton. I think it's probably time for him to go, but I am worried about so many senior players going at once. Under Murphy has been lowkey great. - Nearly 9,000 mins, 100 games - 27 assists - 20 goals Nearly a goal or assist every other game #NUFC

So Sean Steur is joining #NUFC on a 5-year deal apparently, for about 23m GBP. Sean Steur 🔴 is an 18-year-old Dutch ball-carrying central midfielder. He's both-footed, 183 cm tall, and a top talent in the Netherlands. Here he is vs. Tonali 🔵 with the caveat about league strength. 1/ 🧵

After 28 years, sadly my time at Opta has come to an end. Through seven different owners, some good, some bad, I've helped the companies grow the brand from start up to global behemoth and I've been very lucky to have a job that was also my hobby.

With Sesko now off to Man Utd, #NUFC 's pool of available options has grown smaller. While there are some obvious shot execution issues, Nico Jackson is the right age & would probably benefit from being away from Chelsea's madness with a coach like Howe.

4 / This feels like a watershed moment for PIF because while we’ve been left without a CEO, DOF and a competent transfer team / strategy, they have been off funding our rivals. Next season already feels like a write off, it could even be Howes last. Let’s see how they react.

Anthony Elanga has joined #NUFC in a £52m deal from Nottingham Forest. Following long term interest, the acquisition ends the club’s 3️⃣ year search for a new first team right winger. Why did Howe & co. opt for the 🇸🇪 international? Let’s dig in 🧵

The 24/25 season was historic for #NUFC. Howe turned a rough summer into our first major domestic 🏆 in 70 years—and UCL qualification. But success brings expectation. With PSR easing & more games in 25/26, fans & Howe expect investment. But who to buy? Welcome to my third annual Summer Transfer 🧵

The next official JWST release will be of a high resolution image of The Firefly Sparkle galaxy: the earliest stages of the assembly of a Milky Way-type galaxy in a 600 Myr old universe. 🔭 🧪
The Firefly Sparkle is a redshift zs⁢p⁢e⁢c = 8.304 ± 0.001 gravitationally magnified arc lensed by the MACS J1423.8+2404 cluster. Left: Full field with the three objects of interest - Firefly Sparkle (center), Firefly-Best Friend (FF-BF; bottom left), and Firefly-New Best Friend (FF-NBF; bottom right) - shown in boxes and circles. The contours show the lines of lensing magnifications (μ= 15, 20, 30, and 40). Top right: zoom in on the Firefly Sparkle with the clusters labelled. Flexibility is often simplified to mean 'can play multiple positions' but it can also mean that they can play different iterations of the same role. Anthony Gordon's one of those who can be whatever kind of winger you need that day: in-behind, playmaker, goal-hound, dribbler, etc. Very useful.

The fact that DuckDB isn't a data warehouse...is the whole point of DuckDB! Once you pull your head out of the snow or the bricks or wherever you spend most of your data engineering time, you will discover that there are data pipeline problems *everywhere* that benefit from data modeling and SQL!

Two spiral galaxies take up almost the entire view and appear to be overlapping. The galaxy at left, IC 2163, is smaller and more compact than the galaxy at right, NGC 2207. The black background of space is dotted with foreground stars and extremely distant galaxies.

First JWST image of Saturn. 🔭 🧪
Image has a mostly dark background and at the center is a dark orange brownish circle, surrounded by several blazing bright, thick, horizontal whiteish rings. This is Saturn and its rings. There are three tiny orange dots in the image — one to the upper left of the planet, one to the direct left of the planet, and the lower left of the planet. They are the moons Dione, Enceladus, and Tethys.

High definition image of our deep universe, taken by JWST. Everything you see is a few billion light years away. Zoom in! Processed by @thocarp.bsky.social www.flickr.com/photos/19746... 🔭 🧪
The James Webb Space Telescope's NIRCam captured this stunning image of MQJ1430+3459, a galaxy cluster located billions of light-years away. The image reveals a multitude of galaxies of various shapes and sizes, some bright and clear, others faint and distant. The cluster's immense gravity warps spacetime, acting like a powerful lens that magnifies and distorts the light from galaxies behind it, providing astronomers with a rare glimpse into the early universe.
