I just spent 20 minutes trying to debug why my iPhone would connect to wifi on this united flight but my Mac would not. It kept redirecting me to the United web site, not the inflight portal. Turns out it was because I had my wifi DNS servers pinned.

my weekend experiment with extreme dumbbell approach to agentic coding is really interesting. I used Fable 5.1 to write extensive planning docs. (>30,000 words) then used GLM 5.2 Flash to implement. 5.2 Flash is limited but good at code and it is super cheap. Plan will cost 2x the build, I think.

I finally used CAD Query in anger with an LLM. I had it design a simple project box to hold a motor control board. Vis with OCP-vscode. I used Kimi 2.7 Code for most of it, but switched to Fable 5.1 at the end to make some fine adjustments.

my dad was a USAF pilot in his first career. I remember his griping in the 80s that every vehicle with a windshield should have a head's up display (HUD). He found it so odd that he had that in aircraft since the 60s but not in cars or farm equipment. Today I rented a car with a HUD. 40 years later

I needed some LLM help with a cad idea I am going to 3D print. So I set up OCP CAD viewer in VS Code and told my agent to "render 'JDL' in 3" tall by 1" thick Ariel letters". Yeah, ok so this workflow has legs. now to do some more complex ideas.
