Just saw someone say their AI runs their fantasy football team and I can’t stop laughing. Like, I’m sure everyone’s doing it or something but it’s very funny to me that pretending to be a team manager was so hard that you needed to pretend to pretend to be a team manager

A month without an out-and-out LW is gonna be really tough. The football gods will always expose you if you leave yourself short in a position. Shame we couldn't just get to January... Obviously means more minutes for Eze, but also Noni and Max I think. Mikel is good at finding solutions at least

Very interesting, but debatable take. In global terms, despite the glut of titles*, Man City are now tainted to such an extent that their commercial value will have nosedived anyway; and it's not as if the PL would suddenly lose its main/only locomotive, like Serie A did when Juve were demoted.

Report: Saliba targeting November return
According to L’Equipe, William Saliba is targeting a return to action in November as he steps up his recovery from a long-standing back problem. The 25-year-old hasn’t kicked a ball in anger since France’s World Cup semi-final defeat to Spain on 14 July, when he was forced off during the first half. We can see the year on year increase in M.City’s illicit funding up to £135m in 2018 but no info after that. Is there no authority with the power to compel them to be audited for all the years since? As if the dodgy deals didn’t continue. We hear about 9 yrs of cheating but is the reality far worse?

I assume all the stop the boats thugs will be bravely donning their masks to protest against the early prison release scheme due to their heartfelt concern for women and children. Funny how they're more motivated to stop 'economic migrants' than people actually convicted of violent crimes...

Some interesting stuff on Sky this morning. Premier League clubs have to vote to expel City. Three quarters of them have to vote for it. 15/19. And already, off the record conversations with club execs suggest that they won't get to that number because of the negative economic impact of doing so.

The more I read about City and the incredible scale and severity of their infractions, the idea of them being allowed to compete in the Premier League at all feels ridiculous and untenable. They show no remorse or any indication of changing their behaviour - the PL can't risk them staying.

Watch this in its entirety. A team went through their final 18 games winning 16, scoring 54, conceding 9. And it wasn't enough to win the league ahead of the biggest cheats in the history of world football. The following season, the squad was ridden with injuries due to this exertion. Farce. Get rid

Stripping City of past titles would be the wrong approach imo. They were the best team those years. It happened. You can't rewrite history and pretend it didn't. The point now is to redress the unfair advantage they enjoyed while cheating for 9 years. Deduct points every year for the next 9.

The thing I find slightly off about this whole episode is the way that journos are now rolling out the ‘the league’s reputation is in tatters, can it ever recover’ lined. As if any sentient adult hadn’t already applied an asterisk to everything City (and indeed Chelsea) won over that period.

Let's not forget that before FFP, both Chelsea and Man City were given over £1bn of unearned cash by their owners to spend on players BUT that wasn't enough for them. They then had to cheat as well.

I feel sorry for City fans honestly. Imagine the greatest era your club has ever had having a great big asterisk over it... Everybody loses when something like this happens in sport. Don't particularly care what happens to them. The important question is how to stop it happening again.

After these findings today, guilty on 114/115 charges, I’m so glad we thumped them by a seven point margin to win the league fair and square last season. With Pep. With their structure and roster after all the financial shenanigans. No one can say we only won because they were docked points.

This is a huge stain on the integrity of what this competition is. This club has, according to the panel, corrupted the top league in the nation’s most-popular sport for nearly a decade and it took nearly a decade to deal with and it is still not over with appeal almost certain. A real mess

Think today shows you should never have sacred cows or super villains in your squad. If Mikel had chosen to start Gyok, Merino and Zubi over Kai, Odegaard and Bruno we'd have said he was mad. But that was honestly the team I wanted after 15 mins when we had no exits and were losing duels.

Will be interesting to see if teams going forward look at what Brighton did today and see it as a blueprint to beat us. In theory, pressing the hell out of us in the knowledge we lack pace and counter attacking ruthlessness is a good way to go. But Brighton's press is also much better than most.

Really could've been 4 or 5. Really shocked by a) just how good Brighton are and b) just how little we've been able to respond. Will be very interesting to see what changes we make as a result of this. I'd bet good money that the next PL away game sees the return of the Rice/Zubi pivot.

He won us the match last week and still bedding in so I don't wanna be too reactionary, but the way Bruno runs (or slowly waddles) around the football pitch is a bit concerning to me. I can't help but think about age curves... Was the £60m spend on him the best use of resources?

Big Red Arsenal @bigredarsenal.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I wondered if a team would try and so this to us at some point. Brighton have gone super aggressive and given us space in behind because they don't think we have the pace and outlets to exploit it. They're largely right so far. But game state might change their approach. How do we use the bench?

Big Red Arsenal @bigredarsenal.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
For what Aston Villa paid for Jackson, I wonder if we should've been in for him... Significantly better than Gyokores without having to pay a lot to upgrade.

Just been thinking about Eze. While he does need to bring better performances, I think he's a bit unfortunate and has been messed about slightly. We spent all of last season developing him into an 8/10 and I think he was really grasping the role by the end of last season. Only to be pushed to LW.

Completely agree with Carragher's interpretation of Arteta's comments. I thought the exact same at the time. Winning a title earns you the right to say and do certain things. Mikel isn't a 'moaner' anymore - he's a proven winner with influence. People suddenly listening to what he has to say.

I know Utd are just midtable mediocrity these days, but that's a big win for City playing with 10 at Old Trafford. Only annoying thing about this otherwise hugely enjoyable start to the season has been their ability to match us stride for stride so far.
