Here it is moving. I'm used to this place crushing videos, so sorry in advance if that happens here. In the process of setting up a new website that can host all the animation stuff.

I’m doing the thing. Some of these would probably switch up if you asked me any other day though.

My 9 Animes: a tier list with 9 different anime selected by your truly, including Baccano, Blood: The Last Vampire, Dragon Ball Z, Ghost in the Shell ‘95, Hellsing, Kino's Journey, Lupin the 3rd, Mushishi, & The Big O.

Sad news via Toy Robot Video's new release of Guyver 2: Dark Hero... Yoshiki Takaya suffered a cerebral infarction, resulting in paralysis to his right side & even some brain damage, which has forced his retirement from drawing manga. Guyver is, for all intents & purposes, officially finished.

Final Message to Fans

Q: Lastly, do you have a message for the fans who have long been waiting for the continuation of the original manga?

Takaya: I suffered a cerebral infarction, and paralysis remains on the right side of my body. There is also damage to my brain, and as a result my concentration and judgment have decline, while my short-term memory has become unreliable. To all the fans, I am truly sorry, but I do not believe I will ever be able to take up the pen again.

Peter Cullen really knew how to sell the fuck out of Toonami promos. A non-insignificant amount of anime's popularity in the States rests on his voiceover skills. RIP to the master

It's incredibly frustrating how useless the shuffle function is on Apple Music. What do you mean it's going to play a handful of songs from the same album in a row!?

Buy a Blu-ray/DVD player. Buy your favorite movies and TV shows. If you can't afford all of them, stick to the ones you love most. If you still can't...learn how to pirate properly. It's not as hard as you think.

40 years ago today. Personally, Robotech: The Movie is more than the sum of its parts. As a film, it's...not great. But as a landmark of the burgeoning anime market outside of Japan at the time, it's a significant indicator of the growing pains the business endured, to bring us where we are in 2026.

Raymond Chandler on what people really care about in a story

"A long time ago, when I was writing for the pulps I put into a story a line like ‘he got out of the car and walked across the sun-drenched sidewalk until the shadow of the awning over the entrance fell across his face like the touch of cool water.’ They took it out when they published the story. Their readers didn’t appreciate this sort of thing: just held up the action. And I set out to prove them wrong. My theory was that they just thought they cared nothing about anything but the action; that really, although they didn’t know it, they cared very little about the action. The things they really cared about, and that I cared about, were the creation of emotion through dialogue and description; the things they remembered, that haunted them, were not for example that a man got killed, but that in the moment of death he was trying to pick a paper clip up off the polished surface of a desk, and it kept slipping away from him, so that there was a look of strain on his face and his mouth was half opened in a kind of tormented grin, and the last thing in the world he thought about was death. He didn’t even"

"hear death knock on the door. That damn paper clip kept slipping away from his fingers and he just wouldn’t push it to the edge of the desk and catch it as it fell."

Sam Neill has passed away at 78. The family said in a statement, "Sam was surrounded by family and passed with the dignity that has characterized his whole life." Sam Neill left an indelible mark on the horror genre with roles in Possession, Jurassic Park, In the Mouth of Madness & Event Horizon.

Someone on the animation staff of this CITY HUNTER episode was a horror fan.

In episode 13 of the anime series City Hunter (1987), Ryō is stuck to the exterior side of a building's window. Inside the building are women in workout clothes. One woman wears a top that says "Re-Animator" and pictures an illustrated syringe.

Among the onlookers comprised of shocked women in workout gear, another woman wears a top that reads "C.H.U.D.".

All the Clamp music videos that Madhouse produced are gorgeous must watch time capsules. I second releasing Rintaro's X on Blu-ray or 4K UHD. I highly recommend diving into the manga before watching the movie because it doesn’t have an ending and the film supplements it with its own.
