SEO is the cleanup crew for organisational dysfunction
There is satisfaction in walking into a mess and leaving it less broken. But an organisation with a reliable cleanup crew has less reason to stop making the mess.

A properly made website works well for AI agents ... and search engines, and LLMs, and above all, for actual people. If you're trying to fix accessibility issues by making a separate "agent-friendly" version, you are just building technical debt. You'll have to redo it multiple times. Just fix it.

Our domain, neocities.org, was NOT listed in the provided court order document, but Namecheap took the report at face value and suspended the domain anyways, and told us "We have to resolve the issue with the complainant in order to have the domain unsuspended." As in, a legal firm in New Delhi.

yeah I feel the comms has been a bit confusing - labelled as 'unnessesary' in the ai optimisation guide, but they have a guide on configuring llms.txt and also included it as a checkbox in the Lighthouse agentic browsing report... like is it a 'hack' or something that they encourage and support?

Yeah I genuinely had to look up what's the point of Spark, when Gemini can hook up to everything anyway. Why can't Gemini also be like Claude, why have AntiGravity? People are hating AI Overviews so having a massive visual box when they may not want them will frustrate users even more #GoogleIO

Google recognises that people do not trust agentic ecommerce yet, so by adding 'Buy on [website]' it's the best of both worlds. Getting users warmed up to the real thing #GoogleIO

How stable are sources in AI answers really? Our analysis of 82,619 prompts over 17 weeks shows: Google exchanges 56% of its sources weekly in AI Mode, ChatGPT even 74%. What this means for GEO.

apparently google guidelines say this is wrong, think it's cloaking!! If users from a location are blocked from seeing something, google should be too from that specific location, but then other locations it uses (sometimes outside of US, I've seen Germany before) it will be able to access :D

Geo-redirects can be quite annoying to users, so if you absolutely need to do them (outside of the regions from where Googlebot is crawling), I'd suggest working to do them thoughtfully, so that it's transparent to users what's happening.

Our guidelines say to treat Googlebot the same as other users from the same location. For many sites, we crawl from the US, I'd check your server logs to be sure. ( developers.google.com/search/docs/... has a bit more)

This is fantastic thank you - yes it's currently an automated process and no statements on the site they've been redirected, will definitely advice more transparency to users around that!

The first "Schema.org" involved a tomato in 1750 Carl Linnaeus gave us binomial nomenclature, the original language for nested hierarchies. Taxonomy isn't just for plants or librarians. I think 2026 is going to be about structuring the web to make it clearer for humans, crawlers and AI agents.
