Since we’re recommending people, @cmcalgary.bsky.social honestly does inspire me with their exploring of Calgary with a camera. They’d be a great person to interview - from their knowledge of all the sides of the city but also in their use of different tech to capture the city - big and small.

Danielle Smith's govt in Alberta is "cost-saving" by eliminating food and drink for patients in hospital settings. Her latest cost saving measure is to take away popsicles, crackers, and ginger ale from children receiving cancer treatments. The effort they put into their cruelty is truly stunning.

I knew nothing about this book when I started it, other than it looked like a good palette cleanser after I binged six romances in a row. I suppose the cover did give me a clue that it wasn’t likely to be a happy story, eh?

I haven’t been keeping a thread of my read books anywhere this year, but popping by to say that if you’re in need of a book that will make you fall in love with its characters and then rip your heart out over and over again, you should definitely read “A Little Life” by Hanya Yanagihara. 😭😭😭😭😭😭 💙📚
