I'm very grateful for my dad, who, when I was little, showed me new and old movies with an attitude like "That's amazing! How on earth did they do this?". Just filled me with wonder. Today I mostly know how "they did it", and boy, it's even more impressive now. Screw the cynics! Enjoy the art.

GOOD NEWS! A new cancer treatment has demonstrated unprecedented results in a large trial for cancer patients whose disease has become resistant to chemotherapy AND immunotherapy. Tumors shrank in OVER a third of participants, with 15 patients experiencing COMPLETE eradication of their tumors.

Very nicely put. E.g. I can no longer enjoy Luc Besson's movies, knowing what a perv he is. Things that used to feel sweet now feel creepy. The material hasn't changed, and if he didn't suck, I'd still love it. I wish I could at least still appreciate the films for everyone else who worked on them.

Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.

When I did logo designs, one of the first things I used to do was google other companies in the same category and look at their logos. Not as "inspiration", but to AVOID doing what everyone else already did. Using AI as "reference" does the exact opposite. It ensures you'll disappear in the crowd.

Concept art is the most poisonous place to use Al. That's when your creative vision is the most fragile and undeveloped. When you see what the Al made and say, "That looks cool, I want my game to look like that!" it's like it's secretly swapping out your baby with its own.
