I'm very grateful for my dad, who, when I was little, showed me new and old movies with an attitude like "That's amazing! How on earth did they do this?". Just filled me with wonder. Today I mostly know how "they did it", and boy, it's even more impressive now. Screw the cynics! Enjoy the art.

I think the only way fascist adults change their minds, is by talking to friends who are like 1% less extreme. After a few decades of this they might become almost tolerable again. Anything more drastic and they'd have to accept they had been a fool. Impossible.

Yes, some feel pressured by management or by the impossible workloads, but one way or another, I've seen dozens of devs (some with decades of experience) start vibe coding. I do not promote this and it depresses me, but it's just what I've seen. If you've seen otherwise, that does cheers me up a bit

From what I've seen, at this stage, most coders use LLMs to some extent. I'd be honestly shocked if that's not the case in any large game dev company. Not saying I like it, obviously.

I'll admit, I could't get into KPop Demon Hunters, but that's because of stylistic things that weren't for me. Many other "girl movies" I totally love. But Execs can't think in complex artistic terms. It's just keywords for them. Because they simply, fundamentally don't understand art and/or people.

I have friends who are illustrators. If someone suggested to me that what they did wasn't art (and to be clear, that has never happened) I would push them down the stairs. "Illustrator", "artist", these are just some silly words. Most of the "old masters" painted rich people for money. Get real.

Yeah, I'm also seeing a ton of positivity around this stuff online, now that the "directing" tools have become more advanced. You can apparently feed the AI blocking/previs or storyboards. So it went from the AI badly trying to do everything to cutting out specific people from the process.
