The Constitution allows it. South Korea has proven it works. If you want to make impeachment viable—and so much else is pointless if you don't—then it can be done by a simple majority adopting a simple rules change: vote on the verdict by secret ballot.

A Democratic Senate Should Adopt Secret Impeachment Ballots on a Priority Basis
Such a change, requiring no constitutional amendment, would free senators to vote their judgment instead of their fears

WHAT THE FUCK
Shivon Zilis
@shivon
It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel happy that I got to show Elon how it feels to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness. Given the tumultuous nature of his early life, his often tortured soul, and how hard he fights for humanity I wanted him to feel the deepest and most stable form of love this world can provide. My heart is full knowing I got to do that, and I hope it leaves a lasting good effect.

We were always his safe space. A place where all of us were overjoyed to see him and one that was always full of happiness and love, not war, in contrast to his otherwise militant existence (a needed break from the battlefield where he could recharge his heart and soul before heading back out)

I loved being that counterbalancing place of safety, sense of calm, and love — and delighted in bringing a smile back to his face when he was down. I will miss him dearly.

I’ve loved him more than life itself and he’s taught me 100 lifetimes of knowledge and made my cup overflow with life meaning, so there is a lot of loss, but luckily we created four beautiful little loves of my life ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am so beyond grateful for our children and they make every single day the best day of my life! I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and coparents.

I’m hurting, but care deeply about E and will always be cheering for his happiness. God speed, Elon, the world is lucky to have you.

Ok yeah, this is good. Happy with this. Got real lucky with this walnut, and I’m pleased with how it turned out.
A walnut desktop in closeup with sunlight hitting it. The brain is relatively straight with lots of blonde in it. A further shot of the desk set up with monitor, chair, and laptop. A plant sits to the left of the desk. An art print hangs above the desk between two open windows.A view of the desk from the upper right.

This didn’t come out too bad. (I don’t like the legs. They were cheap, though. Will replace them if they annoy me too much.)
A walnut desk, 2’ by 4’. It sits on gross hairpin gold legs that wobble. The desk is pressed against a white concrete wall. A view of the desk with an office chair in front of it. The desk is situated between two windows There is a Liz New art print above the desk of a young boy in front of a field of old truck cabs. A caption reads “evaporate and yield to a subdivision.”

“Blade jammed” on lowering, yeah that’d frickin do it. (I lost CFM yesterday and didn’t notice which explains a bit of this , but I also clearly need to invest in a zero clearance insert here!)
A Festool table saw upside down with its bottom off. It’s full of dust and crap. The bottom blade housing, and vacuum tube. It’s full of compacted saw dust. The blade housing flipped open, lots of saw dust and thin strips of wood. It’s a mess. 5 pieces of wood shavings pulled out of the blade housing. Yeesh.

Did some decorating.
A small black refrigerator sits in some wire shelving. The shelves also contain snacks - pretzels, Slim Jim’s, a box of chocolate candy bars.

A model of a scifi tank sits in the fridge - the Militech Chimera tank from Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.

Stickers on the fridge: Cthulhu; a Radical Edward smiley icon from Cowboy Bebop looks at a yellow floppy disk with “Hack the Planet” written on it; Godzilla “destroy all fascists”; “Our joy is a sword” trans colors, by Sen of Dresden Codak; Gideon the Ninth skull from the Locked Tomb Pod; origami unicorn from Blade Runner; some cyberpunk skull I got somewhere I can’t recall.

Really hoping to finish my first desk tomorrow. (I really need one for the Woofice.)
A walnut five panel glue up on a work table. It is 2’ by 4’. The walnut has many blond accents running up its grain. The right most panel has cloudy grain, instead of the blond stripes. It is clamped in four universal clamps. There is blue tape marking each section which shows which sides needed floating tenons.

A bunch of random woodshop stuff is in the background.

I got a new friend this week. 6” Delta jointer from 1953. Bought it from someone in his 70s who had it for 40y (and still had the original manual!) He added a door / cover for the pulley and his own dust collection port.
A Delta Rockwell 6” jointer from 1953 sits in a woodshop. The jointer with a shop made cover for the pulley system that drives the blades. The jointer with the cover off, exposing the pulley.

Thinking about "plus they'll probably have to deal with Godzilla at some point".
"Tried to watch 'Shin Godzilla" on the plane only to realize by the end of the movie that it actually a drama movie called 'Tears for you'. Words can't describe the feeling of watching an incredibly sad movie while constantly thinking: 'Damn... This is depressing. Plus, they'll probably have to deal with Godzilla at some point too...'"

What follows are four screencaps (presumably from "Tears for You"), showing a smiling woman (subtitled "I really love you."), a distant image from above of axwonsn in a white dress (subtitled"Thank you... for raising me."), a short-haired person weeping, and finally, an apprehensive woman (subtitled "living happily.")

“Whimsy shelf” for our entryway. Birthday activity. Designed by Mx15, but everyone helped and painted backgrounds. Mistakes mine. (I hate drywall.) Will be filled with whimsical things, I am assured!
A box embedded in a wall. Front door to the left. Light switch to the right. The box is framed with beveled walnut. There is a somewhat impressionistic landscape painting slotted into the back of the box. Four blue shelves are mounted into the box sides.A further shot of the box. The full entry way, putting the box in context - front door, pictures, a bunch of shoes. The box again, with the door open, sunlight on the box lighting it up.The original design on a pad of paper, and the four paintings sit on a work table. A orange and green landscape with a path running through it, a beach with grass and sunlight breaking through clouds, a grid of tiny art I don’t know how to describe, and another blue and green landscape

Hello! I've been a very happy 1Password customer for many years. I've gotten my whole family on it, and convinced many friends and colleagues to use it and multiple employers to use it for their whole company. I really love the product and have never had any problems with it.
So 1 was extremely disappointed to see that you have chosen to support a project founded by and very closely associated with the white nationalist extremist David Heinemeier Hansson. It will be with the greatest reluctance that I migrate off 1Password, but I will have to if the only other option is for my money to fund anything associated with his hate and ethnic cleansing propaganda. I know you're trying to separate the project he founded and directs to build a linux distribution that works the way he wants it to from Hansson the person, but you simply cannot. It's his project, and in funding it you're supporting him. If I remain a customer, you'll be doing it with my money.I truly hate to see 1Password choose this course, and I hope you'll reconsider. Please pass my message along to anyone who is in a position to advocate against this terrible decision. And thanks for making a great product! Please don't make me stop using it.

ah yes once again the racists are the real victims
In an internal Slack message obtained by The Verge, 1Password's Karimov downplayed the overtly racist comments from DHH, telling staff the following:

As I said, people have different personal opinions. You believe in your heart that DHH is evil, that you have the moral high ground, and that nothing will change your mind.
However, not everyone believes that. It is not fair to claim a monopoly and ostracize team members who might disagree with you.

There are people who are afraid to speak up simply because they will be personally attacked.

Forever wondering where my big square is because it is now CAMOUFLAGED
A work table with a tool wall. The tool wall is painted dark red. There are various tools - spirit levels, winding sticks, pencils, chisels, marking gauges, a big panel gauge, etc, hung on French cleats. There is also, allegedly, a giant 2 foot red Woodpeckers square in the top left corner. Except if it were there it’d be almost the same color as the red paint.

Ok, well. It’s top heavy and all, but put some drawers of crap in there and lop off the slop and it should be fine. It’ll live parked against the wall 99% of its life. This plywood is uh, real busy (if trippy) and might get painted. Just need to finish this one and build two more…
A work table with a prototype type tool wall clamped to it. The table is 4x1.5(ish), just a frame with a plywood table top and frame. It sore on four orange casters. The “tool wall” is two 8’ 2x4s with two pieces of 2x4 plywood clamped vertically to them. This affords 4x of wall space.

The plywood that makes up the backing has some very striking grain patterns. It’s weird and sort of off putting.
