Spatial geometry dictates that a private vehicular unit requires 10 to 15 square meters of stationary ground plane footprint per node. Transitioning commuters to high-capacity rail or active pedestrian vectors increases spatial throughput efficiency by roughly 800%.

One assumes that the Port of Richmond, or their contractor, is disposing of these derelict water vessels. Why in the world do they need to crush them in the middle of the San Francisco Bay Trail? And some of the debris is washing back into the harbor? The whole thing seems like a bad idea.

TFW you spend too much time updating the SW on all your Apple devices, then checking each device to ensure that Apple Intelligence has not been re-enabled. AI, autocorrect, grammar, voice recognition ... so broken. If Steve Jobs isn't turning over in his grave, he's shifting uncomfortably.

Last week, transferred my senior Clipper card to a new smart watch & the card got marked as lost or stolen. Tech support was unable to explain why that happened & they were unable to unlock it. Still waiting for a NEW card to arrive so that I can put that on my new smart watch. Clipper. So broken.

BREAKING 📣 For several days, a peaceful protest took place in the morning, after a young child was killed by a car driver. The child was riding his bike to school, the father with him. The grieving community came together with hundreds of people, cyclist or not, creating a 3km long human bike lane.

Since none of the responsible agencies are doing a thorough job of announcing the status of controlled burns Angel Island, here are some resources I found. Hope they are accurate and useful.

Why is it a surprise when prescribed burns are conducted on Angel Island that seriously degrade air quality? These plans should be widely published & alerts should be sent so residents in the area can plan accordingly. Some AC Alerts issued were, but after the fact. Are the burns continuing today?

There's strange, tortured language in SB141, recently signed by Gov. Newsom. "a city with a population of at least 2 million” ... “prohibits that city from reducing the number of vehicle lanes on a street that provides the only access to two or more adjacent cemeteries” Thanks Gov., thanks a lot.

So I'm all for a Berkeley ferry IF it includes an electric tram on University Ave from campus to the bay. Otherwise, the marina will become even more of a car sewer than it already is & VMT in Berkeley will not be reduced. Increased funding for RELIABLE public transit is what we really need.

💯 would have taken hi-speed rail, instead driving an EV, 8 days, LA for 2 days, then Tucson. Basically a tour of car-centric, climate-denying, late-stage capitalism & I have serious weltschmerz. Then I see exit signs on I-19 listing distances in kilometers & it's scratching me right where I itch!
