I was talking to a friend and realized that a lot of people don't know that officially Karen Carpenter died because of side effects of re-feeding. They fed her so aggressively that it damaged her heart. It's 2026 so the re-feeding process is at least in theory better but anorexia has a long tail.

I just want to note that trans people are generally estimated at about 1% of the population, which means that there's probably around 3,300,000 trans people in the US which means that more than 10% of trans people have, in the last year and a half, fled the state they were living in

The Artemis II mission reminds me of these 1960s photos of NASA astronauts training in Iceland because they felt the terrain would be similar to what they'd encounter on the moon. The outfits are so great, even some 60 years later.
