There’s a distinct pipeline between the freshmen who are insistently proud of what high school they went to and the absolute vacant being we call a frat boy

Jesus Christ Cornell
What use was it to bring the writer and activist Chanel Miller to campus in the spring just for fraternity brothers to scroll, bored, on their phones as she movingly shared her experience as Emily Doe, the victim of Brock Turner? As I wrote at the time, I was floored and dismayed as I sat in the audience with one of my brilliant undergraduates; we heard Miller’s shattering account of being sexually assaulted by Turner behind a dumpster at Stanford University after a fraternity party. Her talk was riveting, and there was so much to learn from it. And yet many of the male students who hailed predominantly from fraternities — 15 percent of each chapter was required to be in attendance — were so tuned out that Miller commented ruefully: “You know, this has been my hardest gig, because they didn’t turn down the house lights. I’m not sure how you professors do it, because it’s so hard looking out at this sea of mildly disgruntled faces. I mean, I’m sure you’re all very moved, but …,” Miller smiled. The implication being, it didn’t seem like it, from her angle.

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

So of course I uploaded a PDF of one of my Globe articles and I guess if you don't pay, you get a pared down version with no video and audio but also we are in trouble if students actually use this tool to take a piece that's less than 1000 words and divide it into chapters.
screen shot of ScrollED page that says "The Rise of AI Writing" Jane Rosenzweig discusses how AI is nearing the capability to write for us, raising concernsa bout its impact on thinking and creativity. Published in the Boston globe ideas section, her article warns against outsourcing writing to machines."Chapter 2: AI's impact on Student Writing. The story explores the implications of AI in academic writing. A teacher considers the ease with which AI, like GPT-3 can generate student papers, raising concerns about the loss of writing skills and the lack of personal voice.

CHOP has specialized world class units that people travel from all over to access. I made the drive from DC to Philly plenty of times. The fact that Fetterman can't tell the difference between a great institution and a grifty panhandler says more about him than CHOP.

After she demanded further payment, according to Sun, he sought out Claude for therapy. The AI told him not to give her the money so he refused.
