On my 35h journey home!! I am sooo excited to get back. I think I can sum it up as: I like being places, I do not like travelling. Thankful for whoever said, “Treat yourself at the airport and buy that expensive snack ONE TIME even though you know it’s not a good deal”, that really helped!

Something I have noticed: Americans in foreign countries: speak English or blatantly butcher the other language confidentially + unapologetically Non-Americans: apologize, try 3-4 other languages to see if there are any common root words, laugh at themselves for being so inept at another language

Anyone in BC complaining about the amber alert needs a geography lesson. The alert was issued IN TERRACE. The children were found IN BURNS LAKE. That’s 4 hours away. I’m so glad they were found safe. You can wake me up at any time for that.

The thing about Floof is he Flops. Flops are very special. When you unlock this former feral cat and he decides he loves you, he Flops. After five months of earning his trust, one day he flopped on his side to let me pet him, and I knew it meant I had become his person.

I held Leah. She had jumped out of my arms when the sedation needle went in and that haunts me. But I then gathered her in her favourite blanket that I still use and talked to her. I watched her eyes turn from clear green to an amber-ish colour. I told her it was okay to go to sleep, to rest now 💔
