just to provide a counterexample; I've been using linux full time for gamedev for over a year, and my experience has been: - installation is pretty simple - drivers, etc, everything worked out of the box - all the software I cared about using works perfectly - I never have to use Windows in a VM

My personal GOTY game award this year would be split 33.33% each between E33, Hades 2 and Silksong. Was pure joy playing them all, so much that I got Platinum (on Steam) in all of them. Blue Prince is also fun, although not done with it yet. Puzzles keep unravelling like an onion even after R46.
