As usual, all times Eastern and all predictions wrong. Noon: Texas A&M @ Missouri (ABC): Unfortunately I just haven't had time for the post this week, and I'm going to do what I can. Expect a good sprinkling of lightning round picks throughout this. That said, this game is a great example of SEC hype for SEC hype's sake. I think it's pretty likely that the middle-to-bottom of the SEC will eat itself alive again, but also that everyone will forget that's more proof a lot of those teams are pretty mid and not because they should all be in the playoff.

As usual, all times Eastern and all predictions wrong. Noon: Alabama @ Mississippi State ("Battle for Highway 82"; ABC): One of Bama's few weaknesses, dating back to the Saban era, has been mobile, dynamic quarterbacks. Miss State has one of those in Kamario Taylor, and the game is in Starkville. This could be a fun one to start the day, and I'll take the home team.

Class in the US is entirely a matter of aesthetics now. Rich suburban kids are “country”. Beard Dudes who look like they love IPAs are “working class.” Teachers who make $32,000 a year but have to dress up sort of nice in JCPenney clothes are “elites“. None of these words mean anything anymore.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)

An infographic for the Artemis II mission displays a blue orbital trajectory map connecting Earth to the Moon, accompanied by live telemetry data showing mission elapsed time, velocity, and distance.A view from a spacecraft in deep space shows its engine nozzles in the foreground, pointed toward a distant, crescent-shaped Earth glowing against the black void.
