watched hedda last night and it filled me with so much rage about how it entirely misunderstood the point of the play that I basically wrote an essay on letterboxd, maybe my longest review ever lmao. HATED IT SO MUCH

some days you think you're making loads of progress with your eating/body image issues, and some days someone makes a jokey and obviously not serious comment about size and you start crying 🙃

the thing that really annoys me about the ophelia song is that the idea of a woman being "saved" by a man choosing to love her is a complete insult to the whole point of ophelia's tragedy, which is about the oppression women experience when their agency is taken away

never seen any of the late 90s/early 00s teen dramas: one tree hill, the oc, dawson's creek, degrassi, etc. not even buffy!

maybe controversial opinion but I didn't hate the way the new tsw*ft album sounds - it was only upon looking up the lyrics that I was like wow this is truly the most vacuous self-congratulatory cis white feminist brand of "empowerment"

didn't think fragrantica could get even more vile but apparently they had "rest in peace charlie" on their website header earlier today. literally not surprised given what we know about the owner but still, a new low. stop using fragrantica, everyone!!!!

"Content" is a blatantly misleading term to use for fanworks. Fanworks are the antithesis of content; content is produced for individual gain and consuming, whereas fanworks are created out of inspiration and the communal experience.

when you read a book so mind-blowingly good it sets impossibly high expectations for the rest of that author's books that they can never hope to live up to

enemies-to-lovers fanfiction is a new and dangerous fad indicative of rising moral degeneracy among our women. weak-minded girls are being influenced by the [checks notes] epic of gilgamesh

part of being a romance author is, I think, looking at different kinds of real life people and trying to understand why they're endearing and lovable, which means constantly looking at people through a lens of love and, you know, I think that's neat
