Not a much better illustration of how stupid the American public is that Joe Biden had a lower approval rating in his fourth year in office than did Donald Trump. I know there was a major political technology campaign by the fossil fuel industry and other fascists, but still crazy it worked so well

Your reminder that the German legal academy did not merely go along with the Nazis. Leading legal theorists provided the intellectual and legal scaffolding for dismantling the democratic institutions of the Weimar Republic, and they actively aided the Nazis in pushing völkische Rechtslehre.

A two-panel screenshot of Fred pulling the mask off of a person dressed as a ghost who is tied up. The first panel shows Fred (with white text on him that reads "LET'S SEE WHO'S BEHIND THIS") ready to pull the mask off of the tied-up person in front of him, who has white text on them that reads "SOMETHING I USED TO LOVE SUCKS NOW."

The second panel shows Fred holding the mask that's been removed, and standing in front of a white man with dark hair and a thin moustache, and white text on him that reads "PRIVATE EQUITY."

Now look at CBS. Installing Bari Weiss to run a news division isn’t a "pivot to the center." It is a deliberate hollowing out. Take a legacy institution, gut its standards, wear its skin like a suit. They don’t want CBS's credibility; they want to destroy the idea that credible news exists at all.

Democrats would be crazy not to make this comment super-famous tomorrow when the Senate debates health care. Republicans don’t want you to be cared for as a patient when you’re sick. They think of you as a “consumer”—and tough luck if you don’t have the money for the care you need.

Good news, Goldman Sachs is forecasting that U.S. Brent crude oil price will drop to the low $50's in 2026! If we can actually drive oil prices this low next year by reducing demand enough and keep it that low for about a year, that should drive about half of our small-scale oil companies bankrupt!
