I have said before and will again: any electoral reform commission must NOT rule out a change of system BEFORE the next election if needed. We cannot risk a minority vote handing a huge majority to any party that would take a shredder to democracy itself.

Virtually every time I try to cross busy main road, this happens. Far more dangerous & less accessible than a bus stop with a cycle track, & happening everywhere. Yet no moral panic & media hysteria.
Car stopped on crossing when green man is showing for pedestrians- usually they will move off as soon as there is space even when crossing still in pedestrian phase. Once we open our eyes to the damage done by the #WarOnWalking, it’s impossible NOT to see it. At every scale, in every detail & decision, affecting every constituency, and influencing every element of culture. And when we try to improve things, they have the audacity to claim there’s a #WarOnCars.

Whatever happened to 'customer is king'? Everyone seems to be saying it's inevitable that all computers will be AI soon and customers will have no option to turn it off. But why? Why should customers put up with having it rammed down their throat whether they like it or not?

Hethersett Lane is now "closed to traffic" until Christmas Eve while they build the cycle track. What they failed to mention is that there's still access for cyclists and pedestrians, which is useful as this is an important commuter route for people working at the hospital and the Research Park.
Barriers across a road with a "road closed" sign. However there is a path kept open down one side for cyclists and pedestrians.

For some, that would be an exciting opportunity to help positively shape the types of council that emerge from the reorganisation and then potentially go on to lead one of the councils you helped shape. But I doubt that's what this CEO intends to do. I anticipate nothing but whingeing.

We’re using the word e-bike to describe too many things. Electric assist bikes are a version of bike & have many public interest benefits. But vehicles being driven by food delivery app drivers aren’t a form of bike…they’re a form of motorcycle. They don’t belong on sidewalks or pedestrian streets.
Picture of food delivery app driver, one of many, I see each day on downtown Vancouver’s Granville Street pedestrian zone. It’s a motor vehicle, and doesn’t belong on a vehicle-prohibited pedestrian street like Granville Street, and definitely not on sidewalks either.

I agree. MPs are not allowed to just quit, and the only reason for Farage to do so (considering he intends to restand) is to avoid an active Parliamentary Standards Commissioner's investigation against him. This should be allowed to run its course, before he is allowed to resign.

The I paper's article is so disgraceful. Absolutely no acknowledgement that serious cyclist injuries are almost nonexistent unless a motorised vehicle is involved. Especially shocking after there have been a number of fatalities resulting from drivers hitting cyclists this year.

It sounds like your second library needs comprehensive retrofitting to make it more insulated (which can keep heat out, not just in), fewer windows and more thermal mass, not A/C (which will mainly just increase running costs).

There's clearly a shortage of stock photos that genuinely represent extreme heat. Where are the photos of: - People suffering heat stroke and sun burn? - People and animals gasping for water and shade on a hot day? - People tired and falling asleep on the job? - Dead plants and dry cracking soil?
