Ofgem, has announced that the energy price cap will go up again by 4% due to rising global gas prices, mostly as a result of the US/Israel war in Iran The only way to bring our bills down for good is to end our dependence on gas by switching to renewable energy, heat pumps and electric vehicles.

Ofgem has identified 16 promising LDES projects. The technologies selected can be used to store energy for a long time in the form of gravity, chemical processes or electrical charge. This is expected to cut energy system costs in the UK by more than £24bn between 2030 and 2050.

The prime minister announced VAT on electricity removed from October, saving households about £45 a year. Likely to be swallowed up by an increase to price cap – but it helps close the gap between gas and electricity prices - vital to encourage more heat pumps. Hopefully a sign of things to come!
