She is not wrong. It has been repeatedly shown that a slowdown in care for patients because of lack of space or other obstacles leads to worse care outcomes. This is going to lead to trans people being left deteriorating and dying in corridors because they cannot find a 'third space' room for them.

To all my trans friends & allies. I know a LOT of you are probably feeling frustrated, tired & maybe fearful of the recently announced J.K. Rowling documentary.
My name is Heather. This was me on my day of filming for that documentary.
I led the PotterWar campaign in 2000/2001. I fought J.K. Rowling & won. I saw up close & personal who she is before most.
My story is in part one. I've rejected over a dozen other documentaries over 20 years. I agreed to this one.
I want to share why.

But first, why should you trust me?
I'm not trans. I never attempted to speak FOR trans people.
But I am LGBTQ+. I've helped women, queer, disabled, and other underrepresented founders raise over $220M in startup/small biz funding. I've spent my career advocating for & trying to make change.
I know & love trans people. Before I agreed to participate, I reached out to over a dozen trans people, experts & advocates for their take.
ALL urged me to participate.

So what was PotterWar?
In 2000, I ran the 2nd largest Harry Potter fan site, thru which I tutored 400+ kids in English & Creative Writing.
One of my kids got a threatening letter from Warner, claiming she violated trademark/copyright. Turned out hundreds of kids got similar letters. One 14y/o was being dragged to court. It was bad.
My co-founder, Alastair Alexander, and I fought back. We negotiated with WB for 8+ months.
We saw J.K. Rowling's vision for a controlled Harry Potter fandom.

Rowling's plan for fandom? Tightly under her control. A handful of limited pre-approved sites where she could control every word.
I also saw firsthand how Rowling treats those she views as "less than."
I was a 16 year old child. She called me "that little bitch" in a screaming tirade. She sued her own fans & she used misogynistic language to attack a literal child. Sound familiar?
I believe if PotterWar had failed, the Harry Potter fandom would have been smothered in its infancy.

I used to be so proud of PotterWar. We saved the fan community we all loved.
I didn't realize the consequence of that. That it would cause so much pain.
I agreed to this documentary to tell *that* story.
To show the world who J.K. Rowling has always been.
How she views & treats those she disagrees with.
But most importantly, to show we fought her before.
And we won.
We can do it again.
This documentary is just the beginning. PLEASE stay tuned.

P.S. I also want to say, I'm fully anticipating a wave of hate pointed in my general direction.
I debated the likely outcome of being transvestigated. I'm cool with that.
I'll admit I am concerned about the inevitable critiques & mocking of my appearance.
I'm typing this from the ER; 3rd time in a year. I have advanced heart failure, likely cancer, and bein evaluated for a rare plasma cell disorder. I'm hugely swollen.
I *know* I'll be targeted for that. It'll suck, but I can take it.
