Just finished reading Huna by Abdelrahman ElGendy — about his imprisonment in Cairo 13 years ago today — & it’s the best thing I’ve read in years. Couldn’t put it down. Today it was named national book awards finalist. Go get a copy — did a reel on insta for anyone interested.

Happy Banned Books Week! My books have been banned in various places, particularly All the Birds in the Sky and Victories Greater Than Death. A lot of libraries also chose not to order copies of my queer YA books bc they'd just have to remove them again, and they didn't want to waste the money.

I hear you. I lost a huge amount of weight due to My Stupid Cancer, and then started regaining during treatment, but still having lost muscle, and argh. Now i am fat but without the muscle that I used to have.
