I guess I just want to say it's really fucking cool to see this reaction happen in a bum-fuck town of 9,000 in flyover country. I have no idea why the Daily Wire chose this place (spoiler: rural Montana doesn't look anything like Minneapolis) but the publics reaction has been amazing. :)

but not one has experienced the backlash like "Pawn Shop" has. the concept is vile, and the execution has somehow managed to live up to expectations. some of the protest leaders can be described as "annoying," at best, but we're getting literal soccer moms and grandmas out on the street. in Montana!

people have been dealing with days of listening to gunfire, to fireworks shot off in the middle of the day, to people shouting racist shit through megaphones in our favorite public park. that shit can't be undone. and as a city that's entirely dependant on tourism, that really fucking matters.

the fact that the city council capitulated is shameful. they did sign a dumbfuck agreement, but it's clearly been violated, and the concessions are too little too late. one observer reported seeing the Renee Good character being shot in the head for four or five takes. just on the fucking street!

there are many reasons why. one woman wasn't able to park at her job because the production closed off blocks they weren't allowed to. another was on her morning run when she was accosted by security guards with bulletproof vests and semiautomatic rifles. the food bank has been all but blocked off.

it should be noted that our town is almost literally Mayberry. the last time we had a public kerfuffle was about adding an extension to a sidewalk (the great "bulb-out" debate of 2025!) the fact that so many citizens are not just acting out, but getting in trouble is astonishing.

when I was 15 I backed over a trash can (aka "wheely bin") because someone randomly placed it in our driveway and I didn't think to check the rear-view mirror, only the sides. Tesla isn't uniquely to blame for this. this is a consequence of little-dick culture as a whole. and they circle wagons.
