We did interviews with multiple people who refused to turn their camera on, responded with a delay, and even asked us to put the questions in the chat. Super obvious they were using an LLM. But it shocked us. They thought they could get away with pretending to be a medic during a live interview!

Fab to have my achievements recognised with a promotion to Research Fellow / Lecturer. Academia can be quite the hustle, but I genuinely love the people and community partners I work with and the sociological and applied health research we are able to do in HIV, sexual health, and LGBTQ+ health.

Having interviewed plenty of gay/bi men about PrEP and their interactions with clinicians + informal conversations, I think we have a lot more opportunity to promote and normalise event-driven PrEP! I've heard way too many stories of clinicians trying to dissuade event-driven in favour of daily.

Interestingly, recently arrived migrant men were more likely to take event-driven PrEP, which may reflect being less likely to access subisidised PrEP. Men living in suburbs with a higher % of gay men are more likely to use daily PrEP, perhaps reflecting the norms of early adoption with PrEP.
