Blue wood asters I didn't expect to see this year (esp. since damn bunnies nibbled them to the ground in August) have been budding underneath wire wastebaskets. Maybe I can arrange some chickenwire so that we can see the blooms, and encourage the bunnies to nosh on something else. Yay?

In case anyone else needs it, the magic phrase for shutting down men picking apart a sexual violence case by blaming victims is: “The only people who would say something like that are rape apologists, rapists, or both.” You don’t have to argue with them on merit when their claims have no merit.

The same way anytime an institution realizes it’s very white and very male and has a “pipeline problem” They know how to fix it. They find folks every three-six years with great ideas who can. What they don’t find are “fixes” that maintain the power inequity enough and the will for real change

Yikes I keep seeing so much stuff about the Cornell rapists
It’s so fucking sickening

                                           Yeah so awful

I also don’t like how they have been labeled the “Cornell 7”
It feels like they’re glorifying the absolutely heinous abuse and crimes that were committed

These sweeping statements about more work being like software engineering that people realize and “all service work can be automated” immediately hits me as 1) a claim that can be tested and 2) one that hasn’t been sufficiently tested. But they all just blithely accept it.
