Sometimes I'm in more of a headspace to read than write. It feels a bit frustrating as my stories sit incomplete in the folder, but I figure it has to be part of a healthy word cycle.

"As the Tide Loves the Diver, as the Diver Loves the Tide" by @ravn-j-silver.bsky.social is a wonderful end to my Saturday of reading. We are perhaps in an over information age, and this imagines an entity that would save us from it, for better or worse, but it is also a story of deep affection.

Portrait practice. I can never get a single drawing method to work for me. I've tried the Loomis method so many times and, honestly, if I follow it all the way through I just end up with muddled proportions. I don't mind starting that way and veering off depending on the reference, though.
Portrait of actor Cary Grant, done in graphite with a loose style and some reference marks. He is a white man with a cleft chin and prominent nose and eyebrows, along with very slicked back hair.Graphite drawing of a young white woman with a bob, striking eyes, and generally small features.Graphite drawing (partially incomplete) of a white man with his arm raised, looking slightly down upon him so his eyes half disappear under his eyebrows.Graphite drawing of an Asian woman in a turtle neck with her hair in a high bun, her mouth slightly smiling.
