Cover of Extremophile by Ian Green.

Fear is the basis of every legal system. The legal systems of countries are made by and for the benefit of those in power—the rich, those who exploit and subdue others. It's not about justice. The word “justice” is merely used as a façade; it is marketing in a capitalist world.

So, I'm with Eleanor.

Finished Extremophile by the amazing @ianthegreen.bsky.social. Not sure what else I can say other than it was a joy to read and now I’m looking up his other books. It’s like the antithesis of solarpunk, a sidestep from cyberpunk and a celebration of a dying Earth.
A well read (well once anyway) copy of Extremophile by Ian Green and a watercolour fly bookmark on top.

It’s a bit battered as it’s been in a bag and satchel and side bag and back pocket

FORTUNE'S WAKE by @clclarkwrites.com is a joy of a book. A breakneck novella of old-school sword and sorcery, intricately thoughtful worldbuilding, propulsive plotting, and achingly adroit characterisation. It is doing about twenty clever things, but never letting that get in the way. Get it! 💗

Yes, it's cats* in mechs in space shooting stuff. But its also about trauma and the ethics of uplift and just wtf are we doing with our planet. I mean, they fly a ship called the Thunberg, so you can probably take an educated guess at what angle I'm coming to this from.
