✨LIT Pass Update✨ Thank you to Councillor Ruby Campbell for bringing forward the motion, to New West council for supporting it, and to Mayor Patrick Johnstone for connecting this work to the urgent need for the Province to establish a stable, long-term funding model for our transit system.
Graphic featuring councillor campbell and mayor johnstone's quotes about making affordable transit a necessary anti-poverty investment.

This is probably the straw that broke the camel's back for me. After a long list of broken 2024 election promises for transit, and now publicly announcing an intention to let TransLink fiscal cliff (at this point the onus is on the NDP to prove otherwise), I can't bring myself to vote NDP again.

How are Vancouver City Councillors doing on transit-related issues? You may have heard of our Transit Hero Pledge 🦸‍♀️ (check out our website, the candidates who've signed on have finally been posted 👀), but we've also cooked up this report card for incumbent Vancouver political parties!

In response to David Eby lowering the province-wide gas tax by 10¢, TransLink should, in response, raise their separate fuel levy by 10¢ to make up the difference 😌 Purely by coincidence, the TL board is meeting right now.

Let the market build the market stuff, let the Cities incentivize rental and family-friendly builds, otherwise stay out of the market's way... 7/
