Maybe authentic wasn't the right word but I'm more in favour of Creggar trying to make a film that captures the survival horror feel of RE, as opposed to Paul WS Anderson borrowing the aesthetics only and doing what he wants with them, even if the new one isn't 100% trying to be canonical

I think there's a space for this. I watch a lot of outdoorsy camping stuff but even the 'neutral' guys have right-wing vibes. Sometimes it's just nice to hear creators reassure you they're not chuds, even if that's not the point of their content
